Oh yea...one more thing

I like writing about stuff that annoys me. Makes me feel better. I know it's selfish, but that's what blogging is all about right. (482,205,205 google results for blogs entitled "All about ME!") My favorite thing people do on the internet is write a blog in response to another blog to tell that person what they think, but they know they're being petty and don't want to look like a dummy so they don't outright reply to or comment on said blog, when in reality it makes them look like a bigger dummy (you know who you are!!!) I realize I'm kinda doing that, but I'm admitting it so that makes me cool right? I don't know what I'd do if the blogosphere didn't think I was cool!

Working

Just figured I'd share a picture of where I spend most of my time during the day. On the right you'll see the new Cisco router we'll be using to connect our two sites...(oooooo.....aaaahhhhhh...yeay Cisco.) And on the left you will see the phone on which I get at least one call a day asking my why after 3 days something wasn't fixed that someone else was asked to fix. Just kidding...(kinda) Must be nice to be all important and busy all the time. LOL

New Beginnings and Experiences

It's no lie that the past few months have been a change of pace for us. The move, the new job, new friends, and all the other fun stuff. Our group is growing as we welcome little baby Joslynn. The Hardin's precious baby girl was born on December 27 amidst all the snow and ice. Welcome Baby J!

New experiences are the name of the game here in Friona, and believe it or not, I'm even branching out. For a kid who hated fireworks because of the noise, I'll bet you never thought you'd ever see me holding a shotgun! The brothers and dad Lewellen, as well as Jeremy were kind enough and patient enough to take me pheasant hunting and even taught me how to shoot clay pigeons. It was a great experience that I won't soon forget, and now I have next hunting season to look forward to.

Hope all is well where ever you may be and that you're having as much fun as we are!

Time for a change....for a change

I know word travels fast so you've probably already heard about the move. If you haven't, then you don't know my in-laws because they can get the word out faster than anyone I know! Anywho...I've recently accepted a job offer for an IT tech out in west Texas. How are we gonna get there??? DUH! In a big red truck! (Actually orange and white truck.) That's right...we're trekking across the state in a U-Haul! Good times! We are actually very excited because this signifies a new beginning for us, one where we are self sufficient and do things for our own good. The hardest parts will be leaving our family and most of our friends, and me leaving my other new job at Staples, which, if you've ever worked retail you'll know why I'm not terribly sad about that. Staples has been great to me in the short amount of time that I've been there and it gave me the opportunity to work with my uncle which I've wanted to do for years. In fact, if it weren't for the grumpy people that assume since I work there I must be terribly unintelligent, it would be a great job. The Lord, however, has greater plans for the Price clan, and this new opportunity has practically fallen into our laps, complete with great local friends and a place to live. So the three of us are off to Friona! (3 because the Chuck-ster has to have a say in it too!)

So I leave fair Rowlett with a few tips for you to live a happier life;

1. Be kind to your photographer, especially on your wedding day. The more grumpy you are, the less likely it is that he will want to want to photoshop those blemishes off your sour face.

2. Don't tell a professional how to do their job, we're called PROFESSIONALS for a reason.

3. Don't assume that where one works is a clue to how intelligent they are. If you're a jerk to an associate at a store, especially a smart one, you're gonna get bad advice.

4. Finally...LIGHTEN UP! This tip can be used universally. About 90% of the customers I've met over the last few weeks would definitely benefit from this one because it's that easy to make the situation better.

Things you can learn from my position about Staples to make your shopping experience more enjoyable. (can be applied to most retail type people)

1. I didn't pick the price, don't complain to me about how high it is.

2. Don't get mad at me when I can answer your question by reading the box.

3. If you don't know what you want, I can't help ya.

4. For goodness sakes, write down what model of printer you have before you come to me asking for ink. You will NOT recognize it when you get here, and if you get on your cell phone while I'm trying to help you...well...just don't.

5. You have two arms. If one of them is holding a cell phone, DO NOT ask me to carry something for you. I'd be happy to help if you'd treat me with even a little respect.

6. Finally, and probably most importantly, buy the extended service plan. It helps me a little financially, and keeps you from belly-aching to me when you turn whatever electronic device you bought into a pile of junk. I can't help you at that point, you're gonna have to deal with Hewlett-Packard directly which will drive you more insane than you already are.

Thanks for letting me vent, and please be kind to your customer service rep!

Jesse Discovers the Fountains

Yea....I'm still alive. Deedee, Mom, and I took Jesse to the Harbor in Rockwall for lunch today and let him discover the fountains. As you might have guessed...the wild man LOVED it. Let me tell ya....the kid has NO fear. Got a couple good shots I'll post at the bottom. Hope all is well in your world where ever that may be.

KISS FM at the Wedding Cottage

If you haven't heard, last Friday evening we had a few surprise guests at a wedding. The morning show from KISS FM was there as part of a "battle of the sexes" deal and we got to meet them. When I get some time I'll post some of the pictures I got but for now, here is a LINK to the YouTube video from the wedding.

Working for a Living

Hey everyone, just a quick update. I realize I haven't updated in like 40 years, but I keep forgetting about it. LOL Well, if you've read Deedee's blog you know that we've been taking on about as much as we can handle. Dee's cakes are really starting to pick up and she's learning so quickly how to do some really neat things with them. Photography is going great as well, we recently had a fun bridal session at the Arboretum. I really like shooting out there, and I can't wait until it starts to bloom so we can get some more awesome pictures. Hope all is well with everyone! Talk to you again soon.

Prayers Needed

I hope that anyone who reads this will join us in praying for a family in the midst of a rough adoption process. Without giving too many details, one party is making this process very difficult for the other by putting their own well being before the child's. My heart is heavy because I know that no matter what anyone is going through...the baby is going to be the one who suffers the most if this situation does not get resolved in a timely manner. I encourage you to pray for this family because I know that their faith is in need of a recharge. Dee has been working very hard on this case and has done all that she can to make this process go forward, but it seems like there is a difficult road still ahead and I believe that our prayers will help them get through this. Thank you for your prayers and comments, I will forward any encouragements to Dee as I know she really needs it.

First Post

Well, not much to say here. I have 14 other blogs and I don't know why I started this one. What can I say...I'm bored. Guess I CAN say that. So I'm off to play chess with Abe Lincoln and a beaver.
